Frequently Asked Questions

Monte
Monte Kitten says, "You have a question?  I have an answer."

Q: What classes will I take?
A: Sixth graders are enrolled in 8 classes.  Language Arts, Math, Reading, Science, and World History are the academic courses in which students are enrolled all year.  As part of an arts curriculum, students take Dance, P.E., Graphic Design, Art, Theatre, and Music.  These arts classes are half-year courses, thus students will be enrolled in 3 of these classes each semester.

Q: How many classes do I have each day?
A:
MSA operates on a block schedule - A Day and B Day.  Students have 4 classes each day, and classes are 85 minutes in length.

Q: What supplies will I need for my classes?
A: For a general list of supplies, please see the "Supplies" tab.

Q: Can I wear my new pink tank top to school?
A: MSA is a uniform school.  Middle school students are to wear burgundy or green polo shirts with the MSA logo and bottoms that are navy blue or khaki in color.  For detailed information on our middle school uniform requirements, please navigate to the "School Info" tab on the top of MSA's main page, then scroll down to "School Store."

Q: Does MSA have early-out Wednesdays?
A: No, students are not released early on Wednesdays.  MSA's school hours are 9:45 to 4:35 on each school day.

Q: Will I get a locker?
A: Sixth grade students will be assigned a locker within the first few weeks of school.  It is important to note, however, that going to one's locker is not an excuse to be tardy to class.
