Nu Delta Alpha, or National Dance Honor Society, is under the auspices of the National Dance Association. Kelly Burnette, co-chair of the MSA Dance Dept., is the sponsor. At this time it is only open to high school students, and they must maintain a minimum GPA of 3.0. There are also requirements for earning points for dance-related events; but that is not a problem for most of our students!:) As you know, we had our induction ceremony in December. If you have not yet paid your dues, please do so ASAP. There will continue to be regular meetings, typically during the high school walk. Please listen to the announcements, or check w/"Ms. Kelly ." At our next meeting, we will be discussing electing our officers, etc. We will try and do as many performances as possible; but it will be the responsibility of the individual members to keep track of their hours/points. There is a fee to join: new members are $20, and previous members are $15. This money goes to NDA, not MSA, for the costs of their certificates and pins. There are additional charges for seniors if they wish to purchase honor cords/plaques, etc. for graduation. There are also possibilities for getting work published in the Journal, as well as for choreography to be professionally reviewed. Many colleges also have chapters, so it would be possible to be members beyond high school. If you have any questions, please contact me @
