• Who is Mr. Devine?

Well, I'm glad you asked!! First and foremost, I am a dad of two wonderful children, and husband to a wonderful woman for the past 23 years.  Having lived all my life until July 2008 in Upstate New York, moving to Florida and Manatee School For the Arts has been a GREAT move for us!! We have always loved Florida, and talked about moving here many times, so we finally did.  And becoming a member of the MSA family has been incredible!!
So, a little more about me... I have been in education for 24 years now.  I received my BS in Music Education from the College of Saint Rose in Albany, NY.  From there I began my first teaching job, leading the band program at a Middle School in Montgomery, NY.  During that time I completed my MS in Elementary Education from Mount Saint Mary College in Newburgh, NY, and my Administrative program from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts in North Adams, MA.  I then left my position as band director to go into administration, where I have spent the previous 16 years leading schools towards excellence.  When the opportunity to move to MSA arose, I was excited about the opportunity to use both my administrative and arts experiences at the same time.  Being a member of a school that is so dedicated to meeting the needs of the whole child has been a career goal for me.  Using my experiences in education, I have enjoyed being a part of MSA greatly, and look forward to helping the students of our school succeed at an even greater level!!
Outside of school, the thing I look forward to most is spending time with my family.  Of course, I love music (trumpet is my main instrument)! And I am a HUGE baseball fan (The Mets and The Rays are my teams!!) and love being outside.  I love to read when I get the chance, and am a life long swimmer.
I look forward to continuing to meet the needs of the school, our students, and our school families!!
