    Pre-requisite: Biology. This course is for students who are seriously interested in possibly pursuing marine sciences or animal sciences in college, or to gain a better understanding of the marine environment which surrounds our local area. This class will cover a variety of topics such as the history and technology of marine science, marine ecology, the Tampa Bay estuary, the deep sea, structure and function of marine ecosystems, marine invertebrates, and human interaction with the sea. There are multiple field trips and class activities which include the Florida aquarium, plankton sampling, invertebrate dissections, maintaining an aquaculture tank, snorkeling, species collection and identification, and Florida Fish and Wildlife speakers.
