• Living the Arts Welcome to Digital Illustration/Animation and Multimedia Design with Mrs. Boldin.

Your room number is 502 right next to the doors of the Large Theatre.

I look forward to this year and getting to know all of you. If you have any questions - Please feel free to email or call me. My information is at the bottom of this document.

    Objective for Digital Graphics:
Students will be able to effectively produce digital illustrations and/or digital media that may be used and represented in real world situations! We encourage real world learning and deadline driven scenarios.

Students become proficient in, and refine, their use of concepts, terminology, techniques, and applications of digital imaging to create original work. Students produce digital images through combined use of computers, graphic software, drawing, graphic tablets, printers, new media, and emerging technologies. Students' increasingly independent approach to their work promotes risk-taking in the completion of conceptually based, self-directed work. This course incorporates hands-on activities, the use of technology, and consumption of art materials.

Through the critique process, students evaluate and respond to their own work and that of their peers to measure artistic growth.

     Supplies and Responsibility:

It is each student's responsibility to come to class prepared and with their materials every day. Student will receive credit for bringing in the signed syllabus, Internet Agreement Form and Paid Fee by Friday, August 16th

    Supply List:

LAB FEE: $20.00 (students will receive their drawing tablet and sketch pad when payment is received - if paid directly to school in a lump sum - please advise your student to get a receipt to show their teachers!)

    One pack of Pencils
    One pack of Erasers
One box of thin tip BLACK sharpies
    Earbuds or headphones (Very Important!!!)
    One box of tissues
    Flash Drive for storage

    Project Deadlines:

Meeting deadlines is critical to a productive life and are crucial if you want to keep your job. Students must turn in projects and classwork on time, however, understanding that some unforeseen circumstances may occur the following policy has been developed:

PROJECT: If your PROJECT will not be turned in on the day it is due and you are in class, the student must fill out a LATE WORK SUBMISSION REQUEST FORM. This filled-out request must be signed by a parent or guardian and is due the next time the student attends class. Then the student will have up to two weeks (five class periods) to turn in that PROJECT with a 10% penalty. After this time period, the project will be counted as a zero (0) in my Gradebook.

CLASSWORK: CLASSWORK must be done on time in class if a student would like to make up classwork, morning lab is available every morning from 8:30 – 9:30 in Room 203.

QUIZZES: If a student would like to retake a quiz, they must set up a desired time with me to arrange for a retake or follow up and retake it on the next class period that they attend.

ABSENCE: If you are absent the day something is due it is your responsibility to make arrangements to make it up. You will have one day for every day absent to make up work missed during your absence.

Students should always come to class prepared and ready to work. All students are responsible
for their own supplies. Please feel free to call with any questions or concerns you may have throughout the school year.

Each student is assigned a Google Classroom Account for classroom assignments. You will be invited to view and be a part of this account via email invitation. It is imperative that I have a correct email account if you would like to be able to follow your students progress - this means; you will be able to see all of your students assignments, uploaded finished projects, late work and missing assignments.

The other way to follow your student progress is to have an account via the Parent Portal on Manatee School For the Arts Website at: https://www.msfta.org/Domain/1

Forms will be sent home.... Please make sure that ALL forms are signed and returned as soon as possible. It is also imperative that you pay your class fee so  your student receives the materials needed to begin working. If fees are paid via single check to front office, please make sure that your student bring me a copy of the receipt. - Thank you.
