About your teacher: Ms. Ostner received her BFA in Design and Technical Theatre at the University of Connecticut in 2013. She graduated in the Honors Program as a University Scholar and produced her senior thesis on Female Tailoring of the 1940s and 50s alongside her costume design for Connecticut Repertory Theatre's His Girl Friday.
She moved to Florida in the fall of 2013 to work for Walt Disney World. Her time in Orlando culminated with a role as an entertainment technician for SeaWorld. Here, she gained the necessary experience to take her career on the road; in 2015 she became a technician for Feld Entertainment and toured interntationally with Disney on Ice for several years. Ms. Ostner assumed the role of the Assistant Technical Director for the Van Wezel Performing Arts Hall in 2017. Pursuing her passions for the protection of the environment and our oceans, Ms. Ostner most recently worked at Mote Marine Laboratory as their events coordinator.
Ms. Ostner served as the resident set designer and painter for Storyland Theatre in Augusta, GA from 2016 to 2019. She continutes to freelance locally as a production assistant for Weber Scenic and as a stagehand with IATSE 412.
