7th & 8th Grade American History
This course will deal with the political, social, physical, economic, and spiritual development of America from early American development to the present with a focus on colonial period to 1900s. A major goal for the course is to make history relevant to the students. This will be achieved by making practical application of past events using a variety of techniques. Techniques used will be problem solving, moral reasoning, decision-making, critical thinking, and value clarification. Practical application areas will be career development, citizen survival skills, social responsibility, and social relationships. Another area of emphasis will be current affairs. These will be discussed with major objective promoting awareness and involvement. We will show America's global importance and how issues within America have had a global significance to the rest of the world.
